Hi, I’m Jennifer
I’m the blogger behind Simply Real and Organized. I live on five acres in Tucson, Arizona, in the heart of the Sonoran Desert. Every day here is an adventure! Here are the very basics about me and who I am at my core: I’m a follower of Christ, a wife, a mom, a Gogo (what my grandkids call me), and an entrepreneur.
And if you’re a woman over 50 navigating this season of life, I see you. I’m right there with you.

Some interesting facts about me:
- My desk is always a mess (yes, I see the irony in my disaster of a desk and the name of my blog, I’m just keeping it real!)
- I will generally stop everything to play Everdell or Catan with my family
- My grandkids and I have epic battles against Godzilla, which is basically throwing toys at a Godzilla action figure until he falls over. Luckily we always emerge victorious. I may or may not (but definitely do) have a dent in the drywall by my fireplace from one of these very enthusiastic battles.
Can I Ask You a Question?
What would your life look like if you finally had systems in place that worked for THIS season, not the season when your kids were little?
What if you could navigate caring for aging parents without the overwhelm, reclaim your empty nest home as YOUR space, and simplify your life so you have time for what actually matters now?
That’s what I’m here to help you do.
Why I Get This Season of Life
Life after 50 looks nothing like I thought it would.
My kids are grown and living their own lives. My mom is aging, and suddenly I’m the one making sure she’s okay. The house that was once bursting with noise and activity is a little quieter now. And honestly? Some days I’m not quite sure who I am in this new chapter.
Maybe you can relate?
Maybe your nest is empty (or about to be) and you’re staring at bedrooms full of stuff wondering what to do with it all. Maybe you’re juggling caring for aging parents while trying to maintain your own life. Maybe you’re finally at a point where you want to focus on YOU, but you’re not sure where to start.
Or maybe you’re dealing with all of it at once, feeling pulled in a thousand directions while trying to figure out what this next chapter is supposed to look like.
I’ve been there. I’m living it too.
My Journey to This Point
When my kids were younger, my home was generally neat and tidy, although I did have a terrible habit of squirreling stuff away behind closed doors. And man oh man, did I squirrel away a lot of stuff! I didn’t exactly have a system in place to deal with all my stuff.
When my kids started leaving home and my mom began needing more help, everything shifted. Suddenly I was navigating territory I wasn’t prepared for. How do you help aging parents when you’re still figuring out your own life? How do you reclaim your home when it’s filled with decades of memories? How do you simplify when life is more complicated than ever?
I decided something had to change. Not just in my home, but in how I approached this whole season of life.
Over time, I learned to declutter not just my physical space, but also my time, my obligations, and my mindset. I created systems that actually work for this stage of life. I figured out how to help our parents while maintaining boundaries. I learned to make my home work for ME, not for the family I used to have.
And the transformation? Life-changing.
What Makes This Season Different
Here’s what I’ve learned: organizing and simplifying your life at 50+ is completely different than it was in your 30s and 40s.
You’re not just managing a busy household anymore. You’re navigating:
- Empty nest transitions (what do I do with all their stuff? What do I do with all this SPACE?)
- Aging parents (doctor appointments, medications, difficult conversations, caregiving)
- Your own changing needs (health, hobbies, priorities, relationships)
- Simplifying for the future (less stuff, less stress, more intention)
- Rediscovering yourself (who am I now that I’m not just “mom”?)
The systems that worked when you had three kids playing soccer don’t work anymore. You need strategies designed for THIS season. And that’s exactly what I help with.
