Keeping a clean home is not always easy. Boy oh boy, can I relate to that statement! But, I do have a solution! One of the best ways to stay on top of things is by creating a daily cleaning routine. 15-30 Minutes is all it Takes

Think about it: dedicating just 15 to 30 minutes a day to tasks like making your bed, laundry, dishes, quick cleaning the bathroom and vacuuming high traffic areas can make a world of difference. I like to tackle these little chores in the morning, if possible. Occasionally, I have other plans in the morning or get side tracked and I’ll have to do my daily chores a little later in the day. It’s fine, I never stress about that. I just do it when I can and I get the same results: a home that is clean enough every single day! The key is consistency. With practice, it becomes second nature, and you’ll be amazed at how quickly you can maintain a tidy home.

4. “Clutter Hotspot” Checks

We all have those pesky areas in our homes where clutter seems to magically accumulate. You know the spots I’m talking about—countertops, entryways, desks—places that somehow become a catch-all for everything from mail to random items that don’t have a home. I have a solution! By designating a “clutter hotspot” check, you can tackle these problem areas and keep your space feeling organized.

Start by identifying the specific spots in your home where clutter tends to pile up. Once you’ve pinpointed these hotspots, make it a daily habit to spend just five minutes decluttering them. Seriously, five minutes! Grab a timer, set it for five minutes, and dive in. You’ll be amazed at how much you can accomplish in such a short time.

One Hot-Spot To Rule Them All

I’m channeling my inner Frodo right now, but hear me out. This concept is a bit weird but it works so well to keep my house clutter free. I created one hot-spot where I’m allowed to pile things up. Any time I come across things that don’t have a home or random items I’m not sure what to do with, I put them in my Quick Clean Box under my desk. Additionally, random papers and mail go in my Inbox on top of my desk. Once a week I deal with both of these designated “hot spots”.

My designated hot-spot keeps all of my clutter in one space and helps every other area of my home be totally clutter-free!

Yes, my Quick Clean Box is a double duty tool! I use it as a portable box when I walk through my house for a quick clean up and I also use it as a designated hot spot area, under my desk. It gets emptied out completely at least once a week. Generally, I empty it out by sorting into 4 categories: keep, trash, donate and Deferred Decisions. The things I decide to keep are things I use regularly or love. If I have a new thing that doesn’t have a home yet, I give it a permanent home so it doesn’t keep ending up in my Quick Clean Box.

I love using decorative baskets to corral blankets in the living room or to store toys. They not only look great but also help keep things contained, so you’re not tripping over stray items every time you walk through the room.

Is labeling really necessary? I would say, it’s pretty important. Sure, you already know where everything goes, heck, you’re the one who put it there, but what about everyone else in your home? If you’re the only one who knows where it all goes, your organization system is doomed to fail.
